Data Deletion Policy

Last updated: 2026-08-14

This Data Deletion Policy explains how Kaarox users can request deletion of their account and personal data, what deletion includes, what limited information may need to be retained, and how account deletion affects an Apple App Store or Google Play subscription.

1. What This Policy Covers

This policy applies to personal data connected to your Kaarox account, including account information, profile information, business cards, personal pages, posts, comments, messages, uploaded media, subscription information, reports, settings, location-related data, product and marketplace listings, selling activity, certification or verification information, buyer and seller communications, and other information connected to your use of Kaarox.

2. How to Request Account and Data Deletion

You can request deletion directly in the Kaarox app by opening Settings > Data Privacy > Delete My Account and following the confirmation steps. A recent sign-in or identity confirmation may be required to protect your account from unauthorised deletion.

If you cannot access the app or your account, you can submit a deletion request by emailing support@kaarox.com. Include the email address linked to your Kaarox account and write “Data Deletion Request” in the subject line. Do not send your password, payment credentials, or identity documents unless Kaarox specifically and securely requests information needed to verify the request.

3. Account Deletion

When your account is deleted, Kaarox will delete or irreversibly anonymise personal data associated with the account unless limited retention is necessary for one of the reasons described in this policy. This may include:

4. Product, Marketplace, and Selling Data

If you used Kaarox to list, promote, buy, sell, or exchange items, account deletion will remove or anonymise associated marketplace data from Kaarox’s active systems, subject to the limited-retention exceptions in this policy. This may include listings, item descriptions, item photos, prices, availability, seller details, buyer enquiries, and marketplace messages.

Some marketplace information may need to be retained in limited form if it was reported or is relevant to safety, fraud prevention, dispute review, moderation, certification review, legal compliance, policy enforcement, or the protection of users. Copies independently saved, downloaded, or shared outside Kaarox by another user are not controlled by Kaarox.

Kaarox does not process payments or delivery for user-to-user marketplace transactions. Buyers and sellers arrange payment, delivery, collection, returns, and refunds directly outside Kaarox. Kaarox cannot delete records held independently by banks, wallets, payment services, delivery providers, or other third parties selected by the users.

5. Certification, Verification, and Eligibility Data

Some features may require certification, verification, approval, or eligibility checks. When your account is deleted, Kaarox will delete or anonymise the associated personal data unless limited retention is needed for safety, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute handling, policy enforcement, or preventing repeated misuse of restricted features.

6. Data We May Need to Keep

Kaarox may retain only the information reasonably necessary for a limited period where required or permitted for legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, accounting, tax, dispute handling, store transaction reconciliation, moderation, marketplace safety, certification review, policy enforcement, or protection of users.

Examples may include limited records relating to App Store or Google Play transactions, subscription history, refund or charge disputes, reports, blocking and safety actions, policy violations, abuse investigations, suspicious listings, verification reviews, fraud indicators, legal holds, and lawful requests. Retained data will not be used to continue normal operation of the deleted account.

7. Messages, Shared Content, and Marketplace Communications

Kaarox will delete or anonymise content associated with your account from its active systems as appropriate. However, content or messages already received, copied, downloaded, exported, screenshotted, or independently stored by another user may remain in that user’s possession and is not controlled by Kaarox.

Where a message or limited content record must remain for the other participant’s safety, dispute history, report, or legal record, Kaarox may remove or anonymise your account identity where technically possible and appropriate.

8. Posts, Groups, Reports, Listings, and Moderation Records

If content, a listing, marketplace activity, certification status, or your account was reported, removed, restricted, or involved in an investigation, Kaarox may retain a limited moderation or safety record to protect users, prevent abuse or fraud, enforce its policies, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations.

9. Subscriptions, Renewals, and Store Records

Kaarox subscriptions are purchased and billed through the Apple App Store on iOS or Google Play on Android. Deleting your Kaarox account does not by itself cancel automatic renewal or stop billing by Apple or Google. Before deleting your account, you must cancel automatic renewal in the store that billed the subscription:

The Kaarox in-app deletion flow checks for an active paid plan and directs you to the appropriate store subscription settings before deletion. You are responsible for completing the cancellation with Apple or Google and confirming that automatic renewal is turned off.

Deleting your account immediately removes access to the account and its paid Kaarox features, even if time remains in the current paid period. Account deletion does not automatically create a refund or prorated credit. If you want to continue using Kaarox until the paid period ends, cancel automatic renewal first and wait until the end of that period before deleting the account.

Subscription charges, cancellations, and refund requests are administered by the store that processed the purchase and remain subject to that store’s rules. Apple or Google may retain transaction and payment records under its own legal obligations and privacy policies. Kaarox may retain limited store transaction identifiers and subscription records where necessary for tax, accounting, reconciliation, refund handling, fraud prevention, disputes, or legal compliance.

10. Backup Copies

Deleted data may remain in protected backup systems for a limited period until the applicable backup cycle expires. During that period, backup data is not used for normal app operation and will remain subject to access, security, and retention controls. If a backup is restored for disaster recovery, deletion controls will be reapplied as appropriate.

11. Deletion Timeframe

An authenticated in-app deletion request is normally initiated immediately. Removal from active systems and service providers may take additional time. Kaarox aims to complete eligible deletion requests within 30 days unless the request is complex, identity verification is required, a technical recovery process is in progress, or applicable law requires or permits limited data to be retained for longer.

12. Identity Verification

To protect your account, Kaarox may require a recent sign-in, password confirmation, or another reasonable identity-verification step before processing deletion. Kaarox will not make the process unnecessarily difficult and will only request information reasonably needed to verify that the request is authorised.

13. Effect of Deletion

Account deletion is permanent. After deletion, you will lose access to your Kaarox account, profile, cards, personal pages, posts, messages, subscription entitlement, product and marketplace listings, selling features, certification status, saved information, and other account features. Deleted information may not be recoverable. Creating another account later will not automatically restore the deleted account or its data.

Account deletion does not cancel or resolve marketplace arrangements, delivery, collection, refund, return, warranty, or payment matters agreed directly between buyers and sellers outside Kaarox.
